Yesterdays National day was spent at my Dad's friend's house at a party with cold soba, German Bradwurst, two huge cheesecakes, salad and nine durians to top it all off, all in air-conditioned comfort, watching the parade.
Arvind and Jacinda was there, and a few others I know. When we came to the part where the parade commander addresses the President, an interesting scenario was presented. What if something like this happened:
Parade Commander: Mr President, the Parade is formed up and ready for inspection, Sir.
President: Yes, so?
P.C: (whispers) Sir, you are supposed to inspect the Parade!
President: Inspect for what?
P.C.: But Sir,..
President: Are you telling me what to do?????
P.c: your Excellency, didn't you read the pre programme schedule, Sir?
President: Okay, they look really good with shiny shiny buttons. Can lah, can lah...
Or maybe something like this...
P.C: Mr President, may I have your permission to dismiss the Parade, Sir?
President: Lets wait a while more, they look so nice and pretty...
Okay, enough of spoofs. Altogether still a good NDP, our President looked very dignified, Parade was good, though I didn't really like the 2006 formation, especially by the Arny, didn't seem suitable.
This year the song was quite well choreographed, sung by a pretty but skinny lady called Kiera Gong or something, wierd name but good, husky voice, not bad.
I have one more question though. How did emcee Gurmit Singh manage to go from hosting NDP to hosting Idol immediately after NDP? Both shows were live and last I saw him was 10 minutes before the end of the telecast NDP.
Gurmit: Eh, Ah Boon, where's my chauffer? Go buy Tau Huay Zui for you?! Aiya never mind, you drive me....where's my boots? No lah, not the yellow one, the leather one!.....Yellow one use to smack your face lah, not host Idle show hor!...
Harhar....tomorrow is the day we get back O level MT results lor...but for all zhonghuarians, there will be a rude surprise awaiting!Har har, tml then see zhonghua go up in uproar!!!! Heehee...so fun...
